2017 TRNWR Feathered Friends Results


For the 2nd year, LHS Visual Arts proudly participated in the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge's Feathered Friends Contest. This year's entries included work from Liberty Middle School and Dayton High School. The winners were featured during the Liberty Jubilee as part of the TRNWR booth (above) and will be on display the following dates:

Feathered Friends Art Show


Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge will be hosting the 1st Annual Feathered Friends Art Show this spring. This program will feature artwork showcasing North American birds drawn by local art students at Liberty High School. This event was created by Refuge Volunteer Frances Oster in effort to help students appreciate the beauty of North American birds all around them.

Artwork will be displayed at:

March 8 - 16, 2016
Feathered Friends Art Show
Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters
601 FM 1011 (just north of Liberty off of HWY 146)
The public is invited to the view the artwork.

11:00 a.m.  - 1:30 pm
TRNWR Boardwalk Dedication
Liberty Municipal Park

Awards for winning artwork were donated by the Lower Trinity Valley Bird Club and the Liberty County Art League. Winners will be announced on March 11.

"Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge and the City of Liberty cordially invite you to attend the March 17, 2016, dedication and ribbon cutting of the new Palmer Bayou Boardwalk, located on the Knobby Knees Trail of Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge. The dedication will take place at the City of Liberty Municipal Park at the end of Cook Street in Liberty, TX, from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm. Dignitaries expected to attend the event include Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and Richard Trumka, president of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO)."
