LHS Best of Show: Young Matilda, Lidia Ochoa 

(Lidia is a repeat winner as she won Gold Medal in 2015)

MFAH/Glassell Junior School & Western Art Academy Winner

LHS Gold Medal: In Your Bubble, Lark Walker

(Lark is also a repeat winner as she won Gold Medal for LMS last year)

LHS Gold Medal: Tied-Together, Andrea de los Reyes

LHS Special Merit: Rose and Sunset, Ryan White

(Ryan is a repeat winner as he won Gold Medal in 2014)

LMS Best of Show: Bully, Leigh Anne Sanders

MFAH/Glassell Junior School Winner

LMS Gold Medal: Fall, Food, and Flowers, Marisol de los Reyes

LES Best of Show: Workin' on the Railroad, Zachary Chavanne

(Zachary is returning for his 3rd time while at LES... Amazing!)

Reliant Energy "Power of Art" Winner

LES Gold Medal: Big Tex, Allen Sifuentes

And yes, Marisol and Andrea are sisters!
So a special congrats to the De Los Reyes' Family... your girls do beautiful work!

Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo: Liberty District Art Show

On Friday, January 15, 2016, the LHS Cafeteria hosted over 250+ pieces of Western/Rodeo Art to be judged for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo! 

It was an epic show of 2 FIRSTS for Liberty!

Normally, LHS sends 3 pieces to Houston... 

This Year, LHS was awarded it's 1st Special Merit Award!

Which means we have 4 pieces going to Houston!!!!

Normally, LES, LMS, & LHS are the only campuses represented... 

This Year, thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Elene Takach's 1st grade class... 

San Jacinto Elementary had 22 artists participating 

& one was a FINALIST who almost made it to Houston!

Special Thanks to Mrs. Elene Takach (SJE), Mrs. Jessie Smith (LES), Mrs. Jacqui Hamel (LMS), & all my wonderful LHS art students who not only created artwork for the show, but helped with matting, setup & cleanup. All of your efforts are greatly appreciated in making this show one of the best yet!
